Toronto Fundraiser – Volunteer Opportunity

INFUSION Canada is looking for volunteers to help in the launch of our first ever Toronto-based fundraiser. With the support of volunteers, community donors and corporate sponsors, INFUSION will raise funds by designing and marketing Torontopoly, an Opoly-style board game customized to represent the diversity of Toronto’s unique communities.

INFUSION is coming to Toronto with this innovative board game fundraiser that is designed to:

• Raise $250,000 to help minimize challenges facing young Canadians affected by cancer
• Provide a valuable learning experience for young volunteers
• Infuse elements of awareness about cancer in young adults
• Promote Toronto’s unique culture

As a federally registered charity, INFUSION raises money and awareness for the often underserved segment of teenage and young adult cancer patients and survivors. 100% of funds raised through board game sales will help support these young cancer survivors, patients and their families.

Opportunities with DDB Canada, Agency of the Year!

We are partnered with DDB Canada, Strategy’s agency of the year, to seek out talented student volunteers to become members of a creative team mentored by DDB’s creative talent. The teams will have a chance to work one-on-one with the creative minds at DDB Toronto and showcase their work to the Toronto community. With city-wide media press and sponsorship gathered for the Torontopoly project, this game will give young designers many opportunities to refine their creativity, presentation and design skills.

We are seeking out a minimum of three teams of 2-4 designers to work on the following elements:

• Creative strategy of the game & Graphic design elements of the board and game pieces
• Website design
• Advertising campaign

In addition, volunteers will have the opportunity to work under the guidance of experienced industry professionals who have signed on as mentors and advisors. This will be a great opportunity for artistic and creative young individuals looking to network and gain valuable work and design experience as well as future internships.

With sales scheduled for Spring 2008, volunteers must be able to commit to the project starting in December with the majority of the work in January and February. INFUSION Canada invites all volunteers with any level of experience to be part of our creative, results-driven team working together to support young cancer survivors in our own community!
